Tuesdays with Morrie is the book which story is based on the true story. Morrie who was the teacher of the Mitch, both writer of this book and the old student of Morrie, contract a disease named Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), the Lou Gehrig’s Disease, that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, and patient to lose control of their mussels, finally dead.
Mitch, who was the student of Morrie and work as a sports journalist, eventually saw his old teacher Morrie through the Television Show, The NightLine, Interview Program of ABC TV Network. He went to the Morrie’s house, and started to attend Prof. Morrie’s last lecture about the meaning of lives, which held in their favorite day, the Tuesdays.
During the 14 Weeks, they covered about Feeling Sorry, Regrets, Death, Family, Emotions, Aging, Money, How Love Goes On, Marriage, Culture and Forgiveness. Although Prof. Morrie’s disease was getting worse and worse, his classes quality became better and better. The thing that he strongly stress was “Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.”
Although Prof, Morrie was going toward to death, he do not waste his time, and he studied about human’s life and told it to his best student as a teacher. Also, the book made with his lesson, gives lots of people how to live their life, and what is the most important thing in our life.
Nobody knows when a person going to death. We should not waste our time, but also we should use our time meaningfully, not to regret.
